Susan Kay Manager, Product Applications, Bay State Milling
A graduate of Kansas State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Baking Science and Management and a Certified Baker in Cakes from American Institute of Baking, Susan is responsible for the day-to-day operations of The Rothwell GrainEssentials® Center and the product applications team. With expertise in frozen and fresh bakery products, Susan possesses extensive experience in functional ingredient technology including the application of enzymes and bakery application development having worked for an international bakery ingredient supplier as well as an international manufacturer of bagels, pizzas and frozen meals. She supports process implementation, direct customer-facing initiatives and presentation delivery in combination with leading bench development on strategic projects. She is a member of the American Association of Cereal Chemists, the Institute of Food Technologists and the Bread Bakers Guild of America.
