Deann Akins-Lewenthal, PhD - Principal Food Safety Specialist, ConAgra Mills

Deann Akins-Lewenthal is a principal food safety specialist for ConAgra Mills in Omaha, NE. She leads innovative solutions for mill related industry food safety issues. She provides technical support on food safety programs for the entire ConAgra Mills platform and assists sales and marketing with food safety inquiries from customers. Deann works closely with R&D on new products and with operations specifically on implementation and ongoing execution of technology for improved food safety. Deann received her Ph.D. degree from the University of Georgia in Food Science. She is an active member of AACC International and the International Association of Food Protection.
